Percipio Reaches 150,000 Hours MTBF: A New Benchmark for 3D Cameras Reliability

We are proud to announce that our mainstream product lines – the FM8xx family and VMD family – have both passed the MTBF test with a result of 150,000 hours, setting a new record for the 3D camera product in the industry. The official certification has been issued by SGS, an internationally recognized testing, inspection and certification organization.

This achievement further validates the quality and reliability of our 3D camera products. It also underscores our capability and commitment to delivering consistent support to our customers.

The FM product family, based on dot-pattern structured light technology, has been widely deployed in logistics applications and simple robotic picking tasks. The VMD product line, leveraging fringe-pattern structured light, is highly recognized in factory automation and bin-picking scenarios.

Boasting a comprehensive range of 3D camera products, Percipio now serves over 1,000 enterprise customers worldwide, with more than 70,000 units installed across the factory automation, logistics and mobile robotics markets.

What is MTBF?

Mean time between failures (MTBF) is the predicted elapsed time between inherent failures of a mechanical or electronic system during normal system operation. MTBF can be calculated as the arithmetic mean (average) time between failures of a system.
