The proportion of robots in education and research is starting to increase. However, pure robotics research is limited to conventional motion control and path planning. Only by combining machine vision and ‘hand-eye calibration’, can we achieve robotic automation and utilize machine intelligence. While scientific research is at the front of technological research, education is at the front of transferring technology to industry. Currently, leading educational institutions and research organizations have initiated 3D vision-related research or educational programs, which will undoubtedly accelerate the pace of industrial development.
